The aim of the working group “Mastering Uncertainty” is to address the specific challenges of uncertain information in the circular factory. Uncertain information occurs at various occasions, be it sensory information, prior knowledge on used systems, subsystems and components, or the derivation of process knowledge and models. To obtain a common understanding and a standardized uncertainty formulation, uncertainties are generally expressed on the basis of probabilities. In consequence, uncertain information can be propagated, fused and processed to derive decisions on the objects and processes in the circular factory.
