Intro - Working Group "Knowledge Modeling"

Working Group Knowledge Modeling

The Knowledge Modeling Working Group (WG) develops and maintains the modular ontology design for the Circular Factory and supports other subprojects in designing and building their module ontologies that extend the factory’s common core ontology. The shared core ontology defines fundamental factory concepts such as products, processes, resources, and lifecycle events, providing a common semantic foundation for all teams and systems to align on. The WG coordinates and oversees the development and implementation of these modular ontology extensions by subprojects, their alignment with recognized standard ontologies, and the coordination of inter-project dependencies in modeling. It also supports and supervises subprojects in leveraging these ontologies for knowledge sharing and knowledge-driven decision-making applications in the Circular Factory.
